Dear President Katsav,

Thank you again for receiving our Islam-Israel Fellowship delegation in
a private audience at Bet HaNasi [House of the President] on Sunday,
February 4, 2001.

Yesterday, September 13, 2003, marked the tenth anniversary
(13/09/1993-13/09/2003) of the signing of the Oslo Accords.

This coming Sunday, September 21, at 4:30 PM, a two day state sponsored and financed eightieth birthday party for Mr. Shimon Peres, to be addressed by Prime Minister Sharon and attended by dignitaries and celebrities from
Israel and abroad, will open with a reception at Bet HaNasi.

* Where there is neither honor nor shame, there is no dignity.

To transform the 80th birthdate (he was actually born in August) of Oslo Father Shimon Peres into a state sponsored and financed event degrades the dignity of the Presidency, shames the State and dishonors the thousands of murdered and mutilated Oslo "korbanot" (sacrifices -- a euphemism employed by Mr. Peres for Oslo victims).

We now approach the New Year of 5764 and coming Days of Awe. We pray that the President and Prime Minister of the State of Israel will honor the New Year of 5764 by leading the Children of Israel and Noah in the Land of Israel in national prayer, reflection, repentance and remembrance of Oslo victims. We pray that the President and Prime Minister will not participate in birthday celebrations financed with the tax money of Oslo victims, their families and the citizenry of Israel for a man bearing such responsibility for the martyrdom and suffering of our brothers and sisters.

We ask the President, Prime Minister and State of Israel to withdraw
your sponsorship of this event.
